Doublet is a modern and very fashionable design that was invented in order to make stones such as lapis lazuli, turquoise and other non-transparent stones glow and create unique colors from them. There is the unification of two gemstones, which usually consists of quartz and another non transparent stone. Quartz in this case gives radiance to the other stone and also volume. Due to its composition doublet jewelry needs to be looked after. To keep them in good shape you need to avoid contact with chemicals, such as soap or perfumes. Quartz has the tendency to lose its shininess when touched with sweaty hands, we advise you from time to time to you use a soft cloth to polish and give brightness to it.

There was only one winner per event, crowned with an olive wreath made of wild olive leaves from a sacred tree near the temple of Zeus at Olympia. Olive wreaths were given out during the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens in honor of the ancient tradition because the games were being held in Greece.

Lapis lazuli or lapis for short, is a deep blue metamorphic rock used as a semi-precious stone that has been prized since antiquity for its intense color. At the end of the Middle Ages, lapis lazuli began to be exported to Europe, where it was ground into powder and made into ultramarine, the finest and most expensive of all blue pigments. It was used by some of the most important artists of the Renaissance and Baroque, including Masaccio and Vermeer. It still continues to be popular today, and remains one of the most important opaque gemstones.

History
The Phaistos Disc is a disk of fired clay from the Minoan palace of Phaistos on the island of Crete. Now, the island of Crete is part of modern Greece. The disc was discovered in 1908 by the Italian archaeologist Luigi Pernier in the Minoan palace-site of Phaistos. While it is not clear that it is a script, most attempted decipherments assume that it is; most additionally assume a syllabary, others an alphabet or logography or a calendar, making it one of the most famous mysteries of archaeology. The disk is about 15 cm in diameter and covered on both sides with a spiral of stamped symbols. The disc features 241 tokens, comprising 45 distinct signs, which were apparently made by pressing hieroglyphic “seals” into a disc of soft clay, in a clockwise sequence spiraling toward the center of the disk. This unique object is now on display at the archaeological museum of Heraklion.
