Explore Art Work. Alexander the Great’s sword was primarily a Kopis, a type of ancient Greek curved sword known for its effectiveness in both slashing and thrusting. It was a crucial weapon for his cavalry and infantry, enabling him to lead his army to numerous victories. While the Kopis was his main sword, he may have also used a Xiphos, a leaf-bladed sword, as a secondary weapon.
