Ο Μέγας Αλέξανδρος ο Βασιλιάς της Μακεδονίας θεωρείται μία από τις σημαντικότερες μορφές της παγκόσμιας ιστορίας. Ο Λυσίμαχος ήταν Μακεδόνας αξιωματικός και διάδοχος του Μεγάλου Αλεξάνδρου, ο οποίος έγινε βασιλέας το 306 π.Χ., κυβερνώντας τη Θράκη, τη Μικρά Ασία και τη Μακεδονία.
