Η Μέδουσα στην ελληνική μυθολογία αναφέρεται ως μία από τις τρεις Γοργόνες. Από τις τρεις αυτές αδελφές η Μέδουσα ήταν η θνητή. Το άλλο της όνομα ήταν Γοργώ, που σημαίνει άγρια ματιά.
