The Minoan Bees Pendant, one of the most famous Minoan artworks, was discovered in the Old Palace cemetery at Chrysolakkos, outside the palace of Malia, the third largest and most significant known Minoan palace after Knossos and Phaistos. Chryssolakkos means the “Pit of gold” because of the many precious objects that were found there. The famous pendant dates back to the Bronze Age, (1800 BC) and it’s an stunning, very detailed representation of two bees or wasps storing away a drop of honey to their honeycomb. This pendant is one of the most famous exhibits in the wonderfully Heraklion archeological museum.

Drop Earrings inspired by the Minoan jewellery. “Snake goddess” is a type of figurine depicting a woman holding a snake in each hand, as were found in Minoan archaeological sites in Crete. The first two of such figurines were found by the British archaeologist Arthur Evans and date to the Minoan civilization. Symbol of birth, fertility, death and rebirth not only of human but also of the universe.

Το 480 π.Χ. ο Λεωνίδας ηγήθηκε ενός στρατού 6.000 έως 7.000 Ελλήνων από πολλές πόλεις-κράτη, συμπεριλαμβανομένων 300 Σπαρτιατών, οι οποίοι πολέμησαν τον περσικό στρατό που εισέβαλε από το πέρασμα των Θερμοπυλών. Ο Λεωνίδας της Σπάρτης έκλεισε τον μοναδικό δρόμο από τον οποίο μπορούσε να περάσει ο τεράστιος στρατός του Ξέρξη. Οι Πέρσες κατάφεραν να νικήσουν τους Έλληνες αλλά υπέστησαν μεγάλες απώλειες. Ένας ντόπιος κάτοικος ονόματι Εφιάλτης οδήγησε τον Πέρση στρατηγό από μια ορεινή πλαγιά στο πίσω μέρος των Ελλήνων. Αυτό το όμορφο ασημένιο δαχτυλίδι αναπαριστά το δίσκο της Φαιστού.
Ο Δίσκος της Φαιστού είναι ένας δίσκος από πηλό από το μινωικό παλάτι της Φαιστού στο νησί της Κρήτης. Τώρα, το νησί της Κρήτης είναι μέρος της σύγχρονης Ελλάδας. Ο δίσκος ανακαλύφθηκε το 1908 από τον Ιταλό αρχαιολόγο Luigi Pernier στο μινωικό παλάτι της Φαιστού. Ακόμα και στις μέρες μας η αποκρυπτογράφηση του δεν είναι ξεκάθαρη, καθιστώντας το ένα από τα πιο διάσημα μυστήρια της αρχαιολογίας. Ο δίσκος έχει διάμετρο περίπου 15 εκατοστά και καλύπτεται και στις δύο πλευρές με μια σπείρα από σφραγισμένα σύμβολα. Ο δίσκος διαθέτει 241 μάρκες, που περιλαμβάνουν 45 ξεχωριστά σημάδια, τα οποία φτιάχτηκαν προφανώς πιέζοντας ιερογλυφικές «σφραγίδες» σε ένα δίσκο από μαλακό πηλό, με μια δεξιόστροφη ακολουθία που στρέφεται προς το κέντρο του δίσκου. Αυτό το μοναδικό αντικείμενο εκτίθεται τώρα στο αρχαιολογικό μουσείο Ηρακλείου.

Ancient Minoan Cretan Pendant with Minotaur and Double Axe.
In Greek mythology, the Minotaur is a mythical creature portrayed in Classical times with the head and tail of a bull and the body of a man. He dwelt at the center of the Labyrinth, which was an elaborate maze-like construction designed by the architect Daedalus and his son Icarus, on the command of King Minos of Crete. The Minotaur was eventually killed by the Athenian hero Theseus.

The Minoan Palace is situated 3 km east of Malia town and is the third most significant known Minoan Palace after Knossos and Phaistos. This pendant is in the shape of two bees, or wasps, storing away a drop of honey in a comb. The Bees pendant is one of the most famous exhibits in the Herakleion Museum.

Minoan Phaistos Disk Earrings – Sterling Silver and Gold Plated
This beautiful pair of earrings representing the disc of Phaistos. The Phaistos Disc is a disk of fired clay from the Minoan palace of Phaistos on the island of Crete. Now, the island of Crete is part of modern Greece. The disc was discovered in 1908 by the Italian archaeologist Luigi Pernier in the Minoan palace-site of Phaistos. While it is not clear that it is a script, most attempted decipherments assume that it is; most additionally assume a syllabary, others an alphabet or logography or a calendar, making it one of the most famous mysteries of archaeology. The disk is about 15 cm in diameter and covered on both sides with a spiral of stamped symbols. The disc features 241 tokens, comprising 45 distinct signs, which were apparently made by pressing hieroglyphic “seals” into a disc of soft clay, in a clockwise sequence spiraling toward the center of the disk. This unique object is now on display at the archaeological museum of Heraklion.

In Greek mythology, the Golden Fleece (Greek: χρυσόμαλλον δέρας) is the fleece of the golden-woolled,winged ram, which was held in Colchis. The fleece is a symbol of authority and kingship. It figures in the tale of the hero Jason and his crew of Argonauts, who set out on a quest for the fleece by order of King Pelias, in order to place Jason rightfully on the throne of Iolcus in Thessaly. Through the help of Medea, they acquire the Golden Fleece. The story is of great antiquity and was current in the time of Homer (eighth century BC). The ram was symbol of virility and fertility, power and leadership.

Labrys Axe Pendant. Labrys is, according to Plutarch, Minoan word for the double headed axe called in Greek πέλεκυς (pélekus). In ancient Crete, the double axe was an important sacred symbol of the Minoan religion. In Crete it never accompanies male gods, but always female goddesses. It seems that it associated with the worship of Mother Earth or Great Goddess.

Ο Δίσκος της Φαιστού είναι ένας δίσκος από πηλό από το μινωικό παλάτι της Φαιστού στο νησί της Κρήτης. Τώρα, το νησί της Κρήτης είναι μέρος της σύγχρονης Ελλάδας. Ο δίσκος ανακαλύφθηκε το 1908 από τον Ιταλό αρχαιολόγο Luigi Pernier στο μινωικό παλάτι της Φαιστού. Ακόμα και στις μέρες μας η αποκρυπτογράφηση του δεν είναι ξεκάθαρη, καθιστώντας το ένα από τα πιο διάσημα μυστήρια της αρχαιολογίας. Ο δίσκος έχει διάμετρο περίπου 15 εκατοστά και καλύπτεται και στις δύο πλευρές με μια σπείρα από σφραγισμένα σύμβολα. Ο δίσκος διαθέτει 241 μάρκες, που περιλαμβάνουν 45 ξεχωριστά σημάδια, τα οποία φτιάχτηκαν προφανώς πιέζοντας ιερογλυφικές «σφραγίδες» σε ένα δίσκο από μαλακό πηλό, με μια δεξιόστροφη ακολουθία που στρέφεται προς το κέντρο του δίσκου. Αυτό το μοναδικό αντικείμενο εκτίθεται τώρα στο αρχαιολογικό μουσείο Ηρακλείου.

Ο Ήλιος της Βεργίνας είναι ένα αρχαίο ελληνικό σύμβολο που απεικονίζεται σε διάφορα αρχαιολογικά ευρήματα, όπως αγγεία και νομίσματα, αλλά έγινε ευρέως γνωστό λόγω της απεικόνισης του στη χρυσή λάρνακα που βρέθηκε το 1977 σε Βασιλικό τάφο ο οποίος αποδίδεται στη Μακεδονική Βασιλική Δυναστεία του Φιλίππου Β΄ και του Μεγάλου Αλεξάνδρου.

Through the help of Medea, they acquire the Golden Fleece. The story is of great antiquity and was current in the time of Homer. The Golden Fleece is a symbol of wealth, good fortune and royal power.

Meander Bangle Bracelet – 925 Sterling Silver
Beautiful and elegant bracelet inspired by the ancient greek meander (meandros) symbol. Meander design is a decorative border constructed from a continuous line, shaped into a repeated motif. Such a design is also called the Greek fret or Greek key design, although these are modern designations. One the one hand, the name “meander” recalls the twisting and turning path of the Meander River in Asia Minor, and on the other hand, as Karl Kerenyi pointed out, “the meander is the figure of a labyrinth in linear form” the meaning is that these is no beginning and to end end in some cases so it become the symbol of long life and eternity.

Phaistos Disc Link Bracelet – 925 Sterling Silver
This beautiful silver bracelet representing the disc of Phaistos. The Phaistos Disc is a disk of fired clay from the Minoan palace of Phaistos on the island of Crete. Now, the island of Crete is part of modern Greece. The disc was discovered in 1908 by the Italian archaeologist Luigi Pernier in the Minoan palace-site of Phaistos. While it is not clear that it is a script, most attempted decipherments assume that it is; most additionally assume a syllabary, others an alphabet or logography or a calendar.

Ο δίσκος ανακαλύφθηκε το 1908 από τον Ιταλό αρχαιολόγο Luigi Pernier στο μινωικό ανάκτορο της Φαιστού και περιλαμβάνει 241 μάρκες, που περιλαμβάνουν 45 διακριτές πινακίδες. Ακόμα και στις μέρες μας η αποκρυπτογράφηση του δεν είναι ξεκάθαρη, καθιστώντας το ένα από τα πιο διάσημα μυστήρια της αρχαιολογίας.
Ο δίσκος έχει διάμετρο περίπου 15 cm (5,9 ίντσες) και καλύπτεται και στις δύο πλευρές με μια σπείρα από σφραγισμένα σύμβολα. Ο σκοπός και η σημασία του παραμένουν αμφισβητούμενες, καθιστώντας το ένα από τα πιο διάσημα μυστήρια της αρχαιολογίας. Αυτό το μοναδικό αντικείμενο εκτίθεται τώρα στο αρχαιολογικό μουσείο Ηρακλείου.
