Η Αθηνά σχετίζεται με τη σοφία, τη χειροτεχνία και τον πόλεμο. Η Αθηνά θεωρούνταν προστάτιδα διαφόρων πόλεων σε όλη την Ελλάδα, αλλά ιδιαίτερα της Αθήνας, η οποία πήρε το όνομά της από εκείνη.
