Earrings inspired by the Greek meander symbol.
Meander design is a decorative border constructed from a continuous line, shaped into a repeated motif. Such a design is also called the Greek fret or Greek key design, although these are modern designations. One the one hand, the name “meander” recalls the twisting and turning path of the Meander River in Asia Minor, and on the other hand, as Karl Kerenyi pointed out, “the meander is the figure of a labyrinth in linear form” the meaning is that these is no beginning and to end in some cases so it become the symbol of long life and eternity.

Κατασκευασμένο από ασήμι 925 και επιχρυσωμένο.
Αυτό το νόμισμα ανήκει στα λεγόμενα «αθηναϊκά νομίσματα νέου στυλ» που κόπηκαν μεταξύ 166 και 64 π.Χ. και θεωρείται ένα από τα πιο δημοφιλή αρχαία ελληνικά νομίσματα που απεικονίζουν το πορτρέτο της Θεάς Αθηνάς. Η Αθηνά σχετίζεται με τη σοφία, τη χειροτεχνία και τον πόλεμο. Η Αθηνά θεωρούνταν προστάτιδα διαφόρων πόλεων σε όλη την Ελλάδα, αλλά ιδιαίτερα της Αθήνας, η οποία πήρε το όνομά της από εκείνη. Συνήθως εμφανίζεται στην τέχνη φορώντας κράνος και κρατώντας ένα δόρυ. Τα κύρια σύμβολά της περιλαμβάνουν κουκουβάγιες, ελιές και φίδια. Οι ναοί της βρίσκονταν στην οχυρωμένη Ακρόπολη στο κεντρικό τμήμα της πόλης. Ο Παρθενώνας στην Ακρόπολη της Αθήνας είναι αφιερωμένος σε αυτήν, μαζί με πολλούς άλλους ναούς και μνημεία. Το στεφάνι ελιάς ήταν το έπαθλο του νικητή στους αρχαίους Ολυμπιακούς Αγώνες. Σύμφωνα με τον Παυσανία, εισήχθη από τον Ηρακλή ως έπαθλο για τον νικητή των αγώνων, για να τιμήσει τον πατέρα του Δία. Στους αρχαίους Ολυμπιακούς Αγώνες δεν υπήρχαν χρυσά, αργυρά ή χάλκινα μετάλλια. Υπήρχε μόνο ένας νικητής ανά εκδήλωση, ο οποίος στέφονταν με ένα στεφάνι ελιάς.

Το σύμβολο και η δεισιδαιμονία του κακού ματιού είναι μία από τις ισχυρότερες συμβολικές εικόνες στον κόσμο. Τα πρώτα γνωστά στοιχεία για την πίστη στο μάτι ανάγονται στην αρχαία Ελλάδα και τη Ρώμη. Υποτίθεται ότι προστατεύει όποιον το φοράει και διάφοροι πολιτισμοί πιστεύουν σε αυτό. Ωστόσο στην Ελλάδα είναι μπλε γιατί εκείνη την εποχή τα μπλε μάτια δεν ήταν τόσο συνηθισμένα και θεωρούνταν ότι έδιναν το “κακό μάτι”.

These silver earrings representing the disc of Phaistos.
The Phaistos Disc (also spelled Phaistos Disk) is a disk of fired clay from the Minoan palace of Phaistos on the island of Crete. The disc was discovered in 1908 by the Italian archaeologist Luigi Pernier in the Minoan palace-site of Phaistos, and features 241 tokens. The disk is covered on both sides with a spiral of stamped symbols. Its purpose and meaning, remain disputed, making it one of the most famous mysteries of archaeology. This unique object is now on display at the archaeological museum of Heraklion.

The Phaistos Disc is a disk of fired clay from the Minoan palace of Phaistos on the island of Crete. Now, the island of Crete is part of modern Greece. The disc was discovered in 1908 by the Italian archaeologist Luigi Pernier in the Minoan palace-site of Phaistos. While it is not clear that it is a script, most attempted decipherments assume that it is; most additionally assume a syllabary, others an alphabet or logography or a calendar.

This cross called “Irene-Irene of Athens”.
Empress Irene of Athens was the first female ruler of the Byzantine Empire. Born in Athens around 752 and she was the wife of the Byzantine Emperor Leo IV. she helped bring an end to the iconoclastic controversy. In 787 she called the Second Council of Nicaea which condemned the practice of iconoclasm and restored the veneration of icons to Christian practice. Deposed in a palace coup in 802, she was exiled and died on 9 August 803.

Το σχέδιο του Μαιάνδρου είναι ένα διακοσμητικό περίγραμμα κατασκευασμένο από μια συνεχή γραμμή, διαμορφωμένο σε ένα επαναλαμβανόμενο μοτίβο. Το συναντάμε επίσης με την ονομασία “ελληνικό κλειδί”. Από τη μία πλευρά, το όνομα μαίανδρος θυμίζει τη στροφή του ποταμού Μαιάνδρου στη Μικρά Ασία, και από την άλλη, όπως τόνισε ο Karl Kerenyi, «ο μαίανδρος είναι η μορφή ενός λαβύρινθου σε γραμμική μορφή». Λόγω της έλλειψης αρχής και τέλους, γίνεται το σύμβολο της μακράς ζωής και της αιωνιότητας. Ένα από τα αρχαιότερα μοτίβα που έχει διακοσμήσει πολλούς ναούς και αγάλματα.
